All classes are aimed at building on the foundational postures of yoga. In each class you will work within your own limits and will never be pushed to enter a pose that is not suitable - options are always given.
We begin each class with breath awareness and a simple warmup, then move into a sequence of poses that support the natural function of the spine and stability of the pelvis. Each class ends with a guided relaxation before completion.
No matter whether you're just starting out or a seasoned yogi, these classes will always have something to offer you. Beginners are welcome! Mats and blankets are provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Classes are floor based, supported with blankets and pillows. Each session, we move through a series of systematic slow movements. Somatics uses a technique called pandiculation to release involuntary muscle contraction. The slow, gentle exercises relieve chronic muscle and joint pain, restore natural posture, retrain muscular patterns, alleviate common musculoskeletal conditions, and prevent recurring injuries. Somatics is far more effective than massage, chiropractic, and other similar therapies for musculoskeletal pain, because it addresses the underlying cause of most muscle and joint pain: The way our nervous system is telling us to use our bodies.
We work on an individual basis, at your home or a yoga studio. The sessions consist of yoga postures, somatic exercises, breath awareness and education, informed by the principles of somatics, yoga and mindfulness.
I can help you rehabilitate old or new injuries, trauma, posture and movement, to increase general well-being and health and give you the skills and tools to maintain how you feel and move. Many people find old aches and pains are resolved after their first session.
